Description
This is an offering for a pair of Energy Veritas 2.8's. READ THE REVIEW: http://www.stereophile.com/floorloudspeakers/551/ READ THE MANUAL: http://www.energy-speakers.com/v2/products/pdfs/Veritas%202.8%20owners%20manual.pdf These were Class "A" rated - phenomenal speaker - gloss black. $6,000 retail - but had they marketed the speaker correctly, it could have been an $8,000 or maybe even in the $10,000 range. In todays market, I would not think twice about taking this speaker over a B&W Nautilus 802 (or 801) but the Revel Studio would give it a run, but even then, I personally prefer the bottom end of the 2.8's. I have owned Meridian DSP-8000's (five of them), JBL K2S9800SE (four of them), Wilson MAXX2's, Alexandria's, WP7s, WP6's, WP5's, Snell Reference, B&W 801, 802, 803......both Nautilus and "S" series, as well as the Signature 800's (five of them), not to mention many others like PMC MB-1's, BB-5's, Revel Salons, Talon Raven, Dali Megalines, Cello Grand Masters, Masters, and so many more I can't keep track. Bottom line - the 2.8 is one of TWO speakers that I honestly felt didn't need a sub for reference level performance from top to bottom at proper levels. The Meridian DSP-8000's didn't count as they have powered 8" drivers, 6 per speaker. The only other speaker that could deal with the full spectrum was the Wilson MAXX2's. The Alexandria's had subs connected for the year and half we had them installed - but I bet they would have passed ok too. The Talon Raven's were a VERY close call - but the 2.8's, bottom is phenomenal. The 3" mid is raved from magazines and the top end is top notch. Any the finish - not the crap laminate like the 2.3, 2.4 series, these were seriously painted like a car would with several layers of enamel gloss. This is why the speaker was so expensive, the finish was VERY expensive to process. Can you tell I love this speaker? The matching gloss black center, the 2.0C is NOT included - but check my other auctions for this speaker. Buyer to pay shipping, packaging ($200), plus insurance. Local pick up acceptable.
